The installation has passed rigorous regulatory checks from both the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) and the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen), as well as receiving class approval from Lloyd’s Register.
We would like to express our gratitude to Öresundslinjen and their dedicated team for trusting us with this project, along with our professional partners ABB, OSK Shiptech, Blueflow Energy Management, and Volvo Cars. A big thank you also goes to our hardworking suppliers and partners.

MCP is excited to announce the completion of two groundbreaking projects for Öresundslinjen (formerly ForSea) in Denmark and Sweden. These projects, installed on the fully battery-powered ferries M/S Tycho Brahe and M/S Aurora, feature the world’s most powerful onboard EV DC charging systems, with over 600kW of combined DC charging power on each ferry.
The zero-emission ferries, which operate a quick 20-minute route between Helsingør, Denmark, and Helsingborg, Sweden, now offer EV passengers the chance to recharge their vehicles with up to 160kW of DC power during the journey. This provides a range extension of up to 250 kilometers. Each ferry is equipped with eight DC charging points on the car deck and a CYAN EV Charging Management System from Marine Charging Point. The system also includes a convenient card payment solution at each station, making it easy and fast for EV owners to charge while crossing – offering a great alternative to driving across the Öresund Bridge.
