Cemre Shipyard and MCP have teamed up to bring even more eco-friendly and efficient solutions to the maritime industry. Cemre Shipyard has long been known for its commitment to sustainable shipbuilding, creating vessels that are powered by hybrid, LNG, and battery systems. Now, with MCP’s advanced EV charging technology, this collaboration is boosting the green capabilities of Cemre’s vessels, allowing them to offer onboard charging options for electric vehicles.
This partnership means that passengers on Cemre’s green-powered ships will be able to charge their electric vehicles while at sea. These vessels are already equipped with cutting-edge hybrid propulsion systems, and by integrating MCP’s CYAN EV Charging Systems, Cemre Shipyard is taking the next step in making travel more sustainable. The charging stations will offer up to 150kW of power, enabling passengers to leave the ship with fully charged batteries and continue their journey without any delays.
Moreover, the Wind of Change and its sister vessel Wind of Hope are examples of how this collaboration will benefit offshore operations. These vessels are already designed with state-of-the-art technologies, like heave-compensated gangways and 3D cranes, to ensure safe crew transfer and cargo handling. By adding MCP’s charging solutions, the ships will also support electric vehicle users, making them even more versatile and eco-conscious.
As Cemre Shipyard continues to lead the way with energy-efficient designs and innovative offshore vessels, this partnership with MCP highlights the importance of collaboration in pushing the boundaries of maritime electrification. Together, Cemre Shipyard and MCP are not just building ships—they’re shaping a greener, more sustainable future for the maritime industry. With a shared focus on reducing environmental impact, this partnership will make a lasting difference in how both people and cargo are transported by sea.
